The American German Club prioritizes the health and safety of our community. Due to directives from Governor DeSantis regarding large gatherings, the club’s annual Oktoberfest will not be held in 2020.
The American German Club’s Oktoberfest is its largest annual event highlighting German culture, heritage, and traditions. The volunteer-run festival has been held the second and third weekends in October, rain or shine, for 46 years in Palm Beach County and typically attracts over 35,000 visitors.
Following in the steps of the Munich Oktoberfest, we have decided to cancel the event in advance, even if large-scale gatherings will be allowed in the fall. Protecting our volunteers, guests and the integrity of this beloved event, an annual tradition in South Florida, are our main concerns.
On the bright side, the club is expecting to reopend for select smaller scale events with limited capacity. We thank our friends, members and supporters in the community for their understanding and patience during these unprecedented times, and look forward to our biggest and best Oktoberfest in 2021.”
